Classroom Expectations: Students are to line up quietly in front of classroom and remain quiet throughout the time allotted for typing test.
Supplies: Students are responsible for bringing a writing utensil, earphones/earbuds and a flash drive to class with them every day.
Printing: Printers must be used for school assignments only. Should you need to print something else, ask the instructor first. No color printing.
Missed Classes: You are responsible for making up work after an absence by contacting the instructor or a classmate. Missed work can usually be made up within normal class time or before/after school by appointment.
Assignments: All assignments are due at the end of class on the announced date. If coordinated with the instructor, late work may be accepted within a reasonable time frame. Under normal circumstances, after one week, the assignment may not be turned in for credit. Weekly Tracker Sheets are designed to promote planning of class time. Each week of their project is broken down into the days of the week so that students can track where they are and how much remains. When the previous day is assessed the goal for the next day is then adjusted in order to remain on schedule to meet their goal. Several categories require reflection of their days and week so they can tell if they are making sufficient progress and where to make adjustments. These Tracker Sheets are due on the last day of each week by the end of class. Late Tracker Sheets will not be entered as a grade, but must still be turned in complete! If you are absent on the day they are due then they are due the very next day you return to school. The purpose of a this assignment is to track progress and making up information (guessing) the day it is due does not provide an accurate record and thus defeats the purpose.
Electronic Devices: Use and possession of personal electronic devices (including cell phones and MP3 players) is prohibited as per school policy. With necessity and instructor permission, you may bring in your own video/digital cameras to use in class, but camera phones and the like are not allowed. Misuse of computers and other electronic equipment will not be tolerated and will result in privileges being revoked. All assignments will then become homework and students will still be responsible for meeting due dates and/or deadlines.
Academic Dishonesty: Plagiarism and cheating are serious offenses and will be dealt with according to the student handbook policy, which includes a zero on the assignment and detention. Plagiarism is defined by Dictionary.com as "an act or instance o fusing or closely imitating the language... of another author without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own, as by not crediting the original author."
